Course Description

This course provides comprehensive knowledge on helicopter operations at sea, focusing on safe operational practices, risk management, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance in line with RISQ, ICS, and maritime industry standards. It covers helicopter landing site requirements, operational procedures, communication protocols, equipment readiness, inspection findings, and documentation requirements. Participants will develop an understanding of hazard identification, risk mitigation, contingency planning, and best practices associated with helicopter–ship operations. The training also emphasizes crew competency, safety management systems, and compliance responsibilities during helicopter activities. Through practical guidance and case-based learning, the course supports safe, efficient, and compliant helicopter operations onboard vessels. It is designed for shipboard personnel, officers, and maritime professionals involved in or supporting helicopter operations at sea.
