Course Description
Outcomes
  1. Identify common engine-room hazards and apply appropriate safety measures and controls.
  2. Apply correct PPE selection and safe working practices around machinery, ladders and work areas.
  3. Implement safe procedures for high-risk work, including PTW, hot work, LOTO, electrical work and confined-space entry.
  4. Respond effectively to engine-room emergencies and follow appropriate escape and rescue procedures.
  5. Report hazards and near misses effectively and apply Stop-Work Authority to prevent unsafe work.
  6. Recognise Human Factors affecting safety performance, including fatigue, communication, situational awareness, overconfidence and unsafe behaviours.
