Course Description
Outcomes
- Identify common engine-room hazards and apply appropriate safety measures and controls.
- Apply correct PPE selection and safe working practices around machinery, ladders and work areas.
- Implement safe procedures for high-risk work, including PTW, hot work, LOTO, electrical work and confined-space entry.
- Respond effectively to engine-room emergencies and follow appropriate escape and rescue procedures.
- Report hazards and near misses effectively and apply Stop-Work Authority to prevent unsafe work.
- Recognise Human Factors affecting safety performance, including fatigue, communication, situational awareness, overconfidence and unsafe behaviours.
