Course Description
This course provides participants with a practical understanding of the classification, identification, handling, storage, and transportation of dangerous goods in accordance with international regulations and industry best practices. Participants will learn hazard recognition, risk control measures, documentation requirements, emergency response procedures, and safe working practices to minimize risks to personnel, vessels, cargo, and the environment.

2. Hazard classes, UN numbers, labels & placards
3. Safe handling, packing, stowage & segregation requirements
4. PPE, marine pollutants & emergency response procedures
5. Documentation requirements and DG declarations
6. Human Factors principles, including fatigue and stress management, effective communication, speak-up culture, and safe operational behaviours.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of shipboard operations and cargo handling.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Suitable for seafarers, shore personnel, supervisors, and logistics professionals involved in handling dangerous goods.
- No prior certification in dangerous goods handling is required.
