Familiarization Of Engine Room Machinery Instrumentation And Controls, Safe Operation, Troubleshooting And Decision Making
Outcomes
Familiarisation: Introduction to simulator instrumentation, control layouts, and piping systems.
Machinery Operations: Standard procedures for the preparation, start-up, operation, and shutdown of main propulsion engines and auxiliary machinery.
Watchkeeping & Resource Management: Effective engine room resource management (ERRM), leadership, teamwork, and communication during operational watches.
Fault Diagnosis & Troubleshooting: Identifying, isolating, and rectifying various machinery malfunctions and alarms in a controlled environment.
Emergency Response: Handling critical situations such as blackouts, engine room fires, scavenging fires, and steering gear failures.
Simulator Training: Conducted on DNV-approved cloud-based simulator on MAN B&W (MC/ME) and Sulzer (RT-Flex) Engine Simulators.
