Course Description

Build understanding of port environmental risk and compliance obligations (MARPOL, Ballast Water Management) and sustainability/ESG practices.

Outcomes

Participants will be able to identify environmental compliance requirements, describe GHG-reduction and pollution-prevention measures, and assess climate-resilience considerations for sustainable ports.

Requirements

Basic understanding of maritime terminology, port/terminal operations, cargo-handling processes, and the UAE maritime industry, with the ability to understand basic operational data and KPIs; no prior professional maritime experience is required.
