Course Description
This course provides detailed training on the inspection, maintenance, testing, and safe operation of hatch covers onboard bulk carrier vessels fitted with MacGregor folding type hatch covers. The training focuses on identifying causes of hatch cover leakages, conducting routine inspections, performing leak testing, and maintaining hydraulic and mechanical systems. Participants will learn emergency operating procedures using auxiliary pump units and understand safe hatch cover operations during extremely cold weather conditions. The course also emphasizes safety precautions, preventive maintenance practices, and compliance with company procedures and manufacturer recommendations to ensure safe and efficient cargo operations.
